Bintan Getaway March 2005

During the March holidays, I went to Bintan with my boyfriend. The scenery was just so breath-taking, and I could just stare at the sea for ages. The sound of the lapping waves calmed me down and I couldn't believe that there was a paradise so near us. This was the first time I was in Indonesia, but we didn't change any Indonesian money, as the resorts there were mainly owned by Singaporeans.

We also tried go-karting, and it was just so cool to speed around a small race track. However, I didn't manage to take any photos of that. The car that brought us there sped so fast too.

We also had massages, and it was just like those travel programs where they had massages so near the sea, so we could look at the stars at night. I felt as if I was treated like royalty over there. I asked for a combination of swedish and thai massage. It turned out alright. We finished off the session with ginger tea.

There was a number of young Singaporean couples there, and also, I spied some families and Japanese couples too. We were entertained by a multilingual singer at the restaurant. Midway, I got distracted by a little kitten that ran into the restaurant that was just beside the swimming pool.

The only drawback was the severe motion sickness that I had on the way there. I took the medicine too late for it to work, so I felt terrible, and my senses had an overload. Usual nice smells became unberable to me, and the feeling was just too overwhelming. Fortunately, I recovered soon and I made sure I took the medicine early enough before I boarded the ferry back to Singapore.
